Sealing lake bottom to boost recreation PDF E-mail

After 27 years of doing nothing but acting as a rainwater collection site for recharging the aquifer, Pioneer Trails Recreation Area may soon live up to the “recreation” portion of its name.

The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District board of directors has given its stamp of approval to sealing the lake bottom at the site northeast of Aurora -- a project expected to begin in mid-April at a cost of $236,354.
