Aurora's trek through the Class B playoffs began in smothering fashion.

The Huskies won the turnover battle, blocked multiple punts and shut down Lexington's offense as Aurora rolled to a 49-7 win in the first round of the Class B playoffs.

Aurora's defensive effort was its best of the season statistically, holding Lexington to 55 total yards of offense, including just six passing yards.

The leading rusher for Aurora was a first for the season, Maddex Egger. The sophomore ran the ball nine times for 62 yards and a touchdown. In all, the Huskies ran for 168 yards on 43 total plays.

The Huskies advance to the Class B quarterfinals, where Aurora will play host to Scottsbluff. The Bearcats opened the playoffs with a 54-21 win over Beatrice.
