Aurora enters the Class B playoffs as hot as anyone, riding a seven-game win streak and playing its best football of the year.

The Huskies (7-2) were rewarded the No. 2 seed in the Class B playoffs and will play No. 15 Lexington (4-5) at home Friday night.

Undefeated Bennington has the top seed and represents the top side of the bracket. Other teams on Aurora's side include No. 3 Plattsmouth vs No. 14 Omaha Gross, No. 6 Omaha Skutt vs No. 11 Norris, No. 7 Scottsbluff vs No. 10 Beatrice.

The top of the bracket shakes out like this: No. 1 Bennington vs 16 McCook, No. 8 Waverly vs No. 9 GINW, No. 5 Seward vs No. 12 Omaha Roncalli and No. 4 Elkhorn vs No. 13 York.

Aurora wasn't the only area team with playoff aspirations.

Hampton took care of business Thursday, winning its regular season finale to finish the year 4-4. They needed a few more results to fall into place to take a spot in the D6 playoffs.

Those results didn't play out, however, as the Hawks were the first team out and miss the playoffs. Regardless, it was still a great year for the Hawks, its 4-4 record the team's best since 2011.

All four of Hampton's losses this year (Sterling, Stuart, McCool Junction and Parkview Christian) are all playoff teams in 2021.
