Elena Kuehner didn't have anyone to run with at Thursday's C-4 district race. That's because she dusted the field.

The Lady Husky senior won gold at the C-4 district event at Streeter Park in Aurora, winning the race by 26 seconds and helping Aurora to a district title as a team.

Kuehner broke the tape in a time of 19:54.70, well ahead of Central City's Ella Buhlke. Kuehner's teammate, Kaitlyn Oswald, earned bronze while Taylor Pickinpaugh and Makenna Oswald finished 9th and 13th, respectively.

Aurora's girls won the team race with a whopping 19 points, well ahead of Minden at 34 and Boone Central with 59. This marks the 8th year in a row Aurora's girls team will compete at next week's state race.

As for the boys, the results were razor sharp. Minden edged Aurora by a single position with 41 to Aurora's 42 in the team battle as the Huskies finish runner-up and qualify for state.

Individually, Lucas Gautier paced Aurora with a fifth place effort and a time of 17:26.96. Isaac Bisbee wasn't far back in 7th while Quinten Smith added a 13th place finish.

It is also the 8th season in a row that the Huskies will take a full team to the state cross country meet.

The state cross country meet is set for October 22 from Kearney Country Club. The Class C races are set for 12:30 p.m. for the girls and 1:30 p.m. for the boys.
