Betty Delores Rennau, 87, of Grand Island, formerly of Alda, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
Service and celebration of Betty’s life was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church. Burial was at Aurora Cemetery.
All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Betty was born February 13, 1937, in rural Hall County to Herman and Helen (Reher) Mader. She attended Alda District #6 and graduated from Grand Island Senior High.
On September 23, 1956, Betty was united in marriage to Wayne E. Rennau. They lived for a short time at Phillips before settling on their farm south of Alda, where they raised their four children, farmed and raised cattle.  Wayne passed away on February 9, 2018.
Early in her life, Betty was employed at First National Bank. After the kids were all in school, she pursued her degree as a licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at the Lutheran Memorial Hospital and the Grand Island Veterans’ Hospital.
Betty was a very social person and belonged to various organizations and clubs throughout her life. First and foremost being the Busy Dozen Extension Club.  She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran faith.  Her faith was an important part of her life and she felt strongly it should be a part of everyone’s life.
One of her greatest joys was watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting and music events and lately having them all visit her.
In 2021, Betty moved to Heritage at Sagewood Assisted Living and enjoyed the daily activities and social events.
Betty was most proud of her children, Jim (Maureen) Rennau of Alda, Kristi (Phil) Bowers of Alda, Karla (Craig) Boshart of Wood River and Lora (Ron Hilton) Rennau of Longmont, CO.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Nick (Abby) Rennau, Mike (Jenifer) Rennau, Tim (Nicole) Rennau, Matt (Hanna) Rennau, Blake (Chanda) Bowers, Angie (Brent Brown) Bowers, Becky (Madison) Farris, Mitch Boshart, Dan (Julia) Boshart, Kelly (Ben) Krueger, and great-grandchildren, Kendall, Burke, Hendrix, Bowen, Halsey, Bennett, Colter, Nolan, Paysen, Nicklin, Taylor, Huxley, Andilynn and Mackinson, with two more on the way.
She is also survived by her sister, Lorene Quandt of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Marlene Mader of Grand Island; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Leonard Mader and Robert Mader and his wife, Nancy; brother-in-law, Loyal Quandt; and sister-in-law, Norma Anderson and her husband, Warren.
Memorials are suggested to Wood River Community Centennial Foundation or Peace Lutheran Church.  Online condolences may be left at www.giallfaiths.com.
