Nancy Bieck - September 02, 2013

Nancy Bieck, 61, of Aurora, formerly of Giltner, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Bryan/LGH Medical Center in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Rev. Bruce Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Giltner Cemetery. The casket will be closed. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Nancy Julene Bieck, daughter of Robert Ellsworth and Eva Ruth (Runyan) Valentine, was born in York on Sept. 12, 1951.
Nancy grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1969.
Nancy was united in marriage to Neil Eugene Bieck on July 11, 1970. They resided in Giltner, where they raised their two children, Alena and Travis. Nancy worked as the United Methodist Church secretary in Giltner for 10 years. In 2009, they moved to Aurora. Nancy wrote the Giltner news column in the Aurora News-Register until recently.
Nancy loved her flower garden. She was artistic and loved to paint and draw before her illness no longer allowed her to. Nancy enjoyed volunteering for church activities and events. She loved her little dogs over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Howard Bieck.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are husband, Neil Bieck of Aurora; her two children, Alena (Chris) Haun of Scottsbluff and Travis (Stacy) Bieck of Giltner, three grandchildren, Ashlynn, Delaney and Marissa Haun all of Scottsbluff; four brothers, Robert ‘Les’ (Beverly) Valentine, Tom (Marsha) Valentine, Stuart (Karen) Valentine and Jerry (Mindy) Valentine. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Doris Bieck; brother-in-law, Earl (Vickie) Bieck; sister-in-law, Nancy (Dave) Burson; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
