Ruth Dolan - January 12, 2013Ruth Elaine Dolan, 76, of Cedar Creek, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, due to an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Pastor Karl Larson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.

Ruth Elaine Dolan, daughter of Elton and Esther (Palmberg) Elge, was born in Aurora on Jan. 25, 1936.
She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School Class of 1954. She went to work in Dr. Zuspan’s office as a medical assistant. Ruth Elaine then went on to attend and graduate from North Park Junior College in Chicago in 1957.
In 1968, Ruth Elaine married Bob Sarver and they had two daughters, Heidi and Misty. Bob passed away in 1984. Ruth Elaine then moved back to Aurora and worked for State Farm Agent Marlin Hadenfeldt.
In 1997, she was united in marriage to Bob Dolan. They made their home at Cedar Creek. Ruth Elaine worked part time at Copple Chevrolet and then at the Platte River State Park as an office assistant.
Ruth Elaine was an extremely dedicated mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth Elaine had a passion for shopping and also looked so very stylish. She loved animals, but most especially all the many cats she had given a home to over the years. She enjoyed taking trips with her sister. Ruth Elaine attended the First Christian Church in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bob Sarver; brother-in-law, Wilbert Solander and sister-in-law, Carolyn Elge.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Bob Dolan of Cedar Creek; two children, Misty (Pat) Vanderheiden of Aurora and Heidi Sarver of the Grand Island area; three grandchildren, Thomas and Troy Vanderheiden of Aurora and Hannah Tonniges of Polk; brother, Ron (Colleen) Elge of Aurora; sister, Carolyn Solander of Aurora and several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
