The 2014 Farm Bill is pretty much what ag producers expected after waiting more than four years for passage of the new five-year bill.
But there also were some unexpected turns, said local ag producer Curt Friesen, who serves as president of the Hamilton County Corn Growers and holds positions on both the Nebraska Corn Board and National Corn Growers -- like the collaboration between conservation groups and corn growers when it came to protecting crop insurance.
