Despite the fact county commissioners have yet to receive written notice from Midwest Engineering, detailing courthouse roof repairs and results of the roof inspection, the yellow tape barring access to courtyard sidewalks will be removed this week and all entrances to the courthouse will be open for public use.

While county board chairman John Thomas preferred to keep safety measures in place until the board received official notice of inspection results, commissioner Doug Andersen said it was his understanding the county’s insurance carrier has given the go-ahead to remove the barriers.
