A fuzzy statute that has been amended 21 times is at the center of discussion on how Hamilton County commissioners should proceed in light of State Auditor Mike Foley’s findings in a review of county surveyor Duane Katt’s office.
While the audit report identified six issues related to their contract with Katt Surveying that need to be addressed, the two main areas of contention are compensation and whether Katt was in violation of state statute in regard to accountability and disclosure.
