An estimated 50-60 percent of survey data located on a computer server in the courthouse has been lost, though some of it may be stored on memory sticks owned by Katt Surveying, Hamilton County commissioners were told last week.
Commissioners learned last September that all or part of the information stored on the server had been compromised, though it was unknown at the time what caused the problem. The server contains all of Hamilton County’s GIS, city, villages and Homeland Security information, including corners, corner ties, signs on the highway, bridges, culverts, data for planning and zoning and more.
