Commissioners mull security issues in county Courthouse PDF E-mail

A request to move forward with the installation of security cameras and a palm scanner for employee entrance into the Hamilton County Courthouse was tabled by county commissioners Monday to allow the county’s safety committee to look into the possibility of upgrading the building’s panic button system.

Safety committee member Sheriff Kirk Handrup told commissioners while he feels secure with a vest, 45 rounds of ammunition and security cameras all around him, courthouse employees don’t have the same sense of security.
