A record-shattering dry pattern combined with warmer-than-normal temperatures have already put next year’s crop in a bind for producers throughout the state.

Al Dutcher, the Nebraska state climatologist, provided a grim report to farmers at the Hamilton County Ag Day on Thursday which further illustrated the drought picture.

It’s not a report he wants to give, either.
