More than a third of the lineup cut weight and all dropped down a class, including two wrestlers who were rated in the top six of the state at the division they were in. The changes did not disrupt the Huskies’ rhythm, as they marched through two home duals Thursday and also brought home the championship trophy from Saturday’s Central City Invite.
On Saturday, Ehren Schwarz at 285 pounds brought home the Ryan Brandenburg Award as the meet’s most outstanding wrestler. Schwarz handed Ord’s Clayton Lange -- the defending Class C champion -- his second defeat in two years with a pin in 2:19. To read more, see this week's print or e-editions |
