Aurora’s head law enforcement officer will be off-duty for roughly three months, but will bring back an increased amount of training. Police chief Godfrey Brokenrope will leave for the FBI National Academy on Jan. 10, a 10-week program designed to strengthen law enforcement standards and knowledge. He reports to the U.S. Marine Corps base in Quantico, Va., where the FBI Academy is located, on Jan. 12, with orientation the next day and classes commencing the following day. Should he successfully complete the program, he would graduate March 22 and back on duty in Aurora three days later. For complete story, see the Jan. 2 News-Register. |
