Dawn of a new season PDF E-mail

The Aurora football team officially began working on its new surface Monday morning, as 63 boys reported for two-a-day practices at Husky Stadium. The Huskies, who open the season Aug. 24 at home against McCook, rehearse a special teams play here during Monday’s afternoon session.

All four county football teams, both softball teams and the Aurora golf team were allowed to begin practice Monday by the Nebraska School Activities Association, with the remainder of the teams starting this Monday.

Aurora softball head coach Scott Johnson reported 23 girls came Monday for the first of four softball tryout days, with rosters expected to be finalized Thursday. They host a scrimmage Saturday at 9 a.m.
