Hunting for eggs PDF E-mail

Connor McDonald was quick off the starting line at Saturday’s Easter egg hunt in Hampton, putting him in good position to fill his basket with colorful goodies. The event was sponsored by the Hampton Community Club and hosted by Hampton Girl Scout Troop 297.

 
Bids sought on new pool PDF E-mail

The Aurora City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to begin seeking bids for a new pool to be built in Streeter Park.

The new aquatic center is proposed for ground currently occupied by tennis courts west of the existing pool. If council members accept a bid, Aurora’s new facility is expected to be completed May 15, 2014.

Golfers tee off with win PDF E-mail

The Aurora boys golf team teed off the 2013 season with a win Wednesday, carding the low score in a triangular with Hastings St. Cecilia and Grand Island Northwest at Southern Hills near Hastings.

Senior Ben Grossnicklaus won the meet with a 36, with brother Luke close behind at 39. Cole Ashby posted a 44, Caleb Oswald shot a 45 and Troy McDonald finished the nine-hole loop in 49 strokes. In JV competition, Jordan Honas shot 42, with Blake Scism, Tanner Griffith and Trey Cox all at 47 and Alex Hunt at 49.
