Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kerrey visited Aurora Friday, talking to local leaders as he toured the community. Kerrey talked candidly about his campaign, saying, "I have no idea if I'm going to win the election, but if I win I'm going to have permission to do a set of eight or nine things on Social Security to solve the problem." Hundreds of Hamilton County students headed back to the classroom Wednesday and Thursday as the 2012-13 school year got under way in Aurora, Giltner, Hampton and High Plains schools.

While a few Aurora kindergarten students shed tears as their parents dropped them off, it seemed even tougher for parents to say goodbye and many lingered until the first bell sounded and teachers ushered their young charges into the classroom.

 
Cruisin’ for a night out in Hampton PDF E-mail

Hampton enjoyed another big night Friday for the annual TDLC Cruise Night, as more than 400 people packed Main Street with roughly 160 vehicles on display.

"I’ve made all my living here in Hampton and the surrounding community. It’s payback to the community," event organizer Roger Bamesberger said. "The other thing is, it may get somebody to stay in town if we keep bringing people to town like this."
