The Hamilton County Attorney’s office has released the identity of the individual who died in Aurora on Tuesday as 59-year-old Debra H. Miller of 1003 M St.
Miller was found unresponsive in her home on Tuesday and rescue personnel responding to the scene determined that she had passed away sometime that morning.  An autopsy has been performed and the matter is not being treated as a homicide at this time, pending the outcome of toxicology results. Those results will not be available for some time.

(ARC) says public input critical at Monday meeting PDF E-mail

The Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC) Committee will hold a public meeting Monday at 7 p.m. at The Leadership Center in Aurora to gather community input on a proposed indoor pool and recreation facility to connect to the city’s planned outdoor aquatic center.

Commitee chairman Robb Nachtigal said while ARC has been gaining support throughout the community, committee members feel strongly that in order to continue to move forward, they need to hear the voice of those in the community to determine how best to move forward.

"We’ve done the due diligence work we felt was necessary in putting a concept together," Nachtigal said. "Now we’re at the point where we need to hear the wishes of the community and what they’re willing to support."

Katt claim unresolved with county PDF E-mail

An attorney’s effort to resolve a vendor claim issue between the county surveyor and county board before the matter headed to litigation met with little success Monday morning.

Hastings attorney Robert Parker, Jr., appeared before commissioners to ask they reconsider surveyor Duane Katt’s claim for $25,000 for survey work done along the Platte River during fiscal year 2011-12.
