The votes are in PDF E-mail

With six of eight rural precincts voting by mail and 791 early voter ballots already cast, Hamilton County election workers set an all-time record in the General Election, completing the ballot count at 9:20 p.m.
That far surpassed election commissioner Pat Anderson’s prediction of a 10 p.m. finish, which still would have been a record.
Voter turnout was heavy for the presidential election -- 76 percent (4,900) of the county’s 6,440 registered voters went to the polls or mailed ballots in to the clerk’s office.
Deputy county clerk Donna Driewer estimates an 80 percent turnout in the mail only precincts. A total of 791 early voter ballots were returned out of 839 requested for a 94 percent turnout.

Grossnicklaus wins seat on Aurora City Council PDF E-mail

The Aurora City Council will be appointing two new members, one as a result of the only contested race on Election Day.
Kelly Grossnicklaus earned just under 61 percent of the vote to defeat incumbent Paul Shaneyfelt as a Ward 2 representative. Grossnicklaus tallied 352 votes compared to 226 for Shaneyfelt.
In unopposed races, Dave Long (Ward 3) and Wayne Roblee (Ward 1) will join Grossnicklaus on the council. Roblee switched wards due to a change of residence, while Long takes the seat previously occupied by Roblee.
